Senior Maintenance Technician | Netherlands – Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing (GMP Environment)

 

Job Description

A leading biopharmaceutical organisation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Maintenance Technician to perform advanced maintenance, operations and troubleshooting activities across facilities and production environments. The role covers electrical systems, mechanical work, fabrication, construction tasks and support of level 3/4 computerized systems, ensuring minimal impact to plant operations and strict alignment with GMP requirements, company policies, SOPs and government codes/standards (NEN).

The Senior Maintenance Technician will carry out complex technical tasks, maintain accurate GMP documentation, support system start-up and commissioning, develop and review technical procedures, and ensure high customer satisfaction across internal stakeholders. The position requires expertise in Automated Material Handling Systems, control systems, software/mechanical/electrical engineering fundamentals, and troubleshooting within regulated operations.

This role suits a specialist with significant hands-on experience in advanced maintenance, automated systems and technical problem-solving within production or warehousing environments.

 

Essential Requirements

 

Essential Requirements

  • MBO+ level achieved through education, training or experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in at least one of:
  • Automated Material Handling Systems
  • Warehousing control systems
  • Interfacing between level 3 and 4 computerized systems
  • Automatic ID applications
  • Tracking/data handling of products and materials
  • Production equipment
  • Maintenance / Operations
  • Experience in software engineering plus mechanical/electrical engineering or electrical engineering with automation technology
  • Extensive knowledge of Automated Material Handling Systems
  • Ability to perform advanced troubleshooting on production equipment and systems
  • Ability to interpret and revise technical drawings
  • Ability to support and start up new equipment to meet mechanical design specs
  • Fluent English (written and spoken)
  • Understanding of GMP compliance, SOP maintenance and documentation

  • Warehouse material flow controllers

  • Good understanding of GMP

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced maintenance, electrical, mechanical, fabrication and construction work
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across facilities, equipment, and level 3/4 computerized systems
  • Maintain GMP documentation, work orders and SOPs
  • Develop and revise technical procedures and drawings
  • Support system/equipment start-up and commissioning
  • Provide technical guidance; may act in a lead capacity
  • Interface with cross-functional teams and provide detailed technical support
  • Perform housekeeping duties as required
