Job Description

We are seeking an experienced C&Q engineer to act as SME and Work Package leader to join a greenfield expansion for a leading biologics pharma company. In this role, you will be embedded within a fast-paced environment focused on delivering high-quality bioprocess systems while ensuring strict adherence to compliance and safety standards.

Your primary focus will be to oversee assigned equipment packages, driving the execution of system setup, initial evaluation, and performance tuning to optimal Good Engineering Practice (GEP) standards. You will bridge the gap between mechanical installation and full operational readiness, ensuring all process interfaces and automation controls function seamlessly.

Essential Requirements

  • 7+ years of CQV experience in a regulated biopharma or pharmaceutical environment.

  • Deep technical expertise in USP (bioreactors, media, buffer, CIP/SIP) and DSP (chromatography, filtration) equipment.

  • Hands-on skills in mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation troubleshooting, including vessel inspections and verifying as-built diagrams against design.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of GEP frameworks, construction oversight, COHE/LOTO implementation, and safe energization procedures.

Preferred Requirements

  • Proven experience working closely with automation teams during critical startup phases.

  • Advanced proficiency in reading P&IDs, instrument loop diagrams, and electrical schematic drawings.

  • Specific familiarity with Emerson DeltaV, PLCs, and process control instrumentation (flow, pressure, temperature, level).

  • Prior exposure to cross-functional coordination between utilities, HVAC, and automation vendors.

  • Strong analytical skills, decisiveness under pressure, and the flexibility to work extended hours during critical commissioning windows.

Practicalities

  • Start Date: ASAP

  • Contract Duration: 12 Months

  • Location: Limerick

  • Additional: The role requires on-site presence to manage equipment packages (Bioreactors, CIPs, Chromatography, Buffer).
