Quality Manager (Pharmaceuticals)

Amsterdam (remote to hybrid) | Full-time | Direct Perm contract starting with 12 months (with long-term potential)

An innovative pharmaceutical company is launching its Dutch operations and is looking for a Quality Manager to manage its Quality Management System (QMS).

This is a unique opportunity to join at the very beginning and play a key role in setting up the quality function for a growing business that imports OTC medicines into the European market.

About the Company

Our client is part of a well-established European pharmaceutical manufacturer with strong portfolio of OTC products. As part of its international growth strategy, the business is establishing a new Dutch entity that will be responsible for the importation and batch certification of products entering the EU.

This is a genuine operational business, not a paper entity, meaning the quality systems you manage will be central to ensuring compliance and supporting future growth.

The Role

As Quality Manager, you will take ownership of the Quality Management System and ensure the business operates in line with GDP, GMP and relevant pharmaceutical regulations.

This is a hands-on position focused on quality systems rather than people management. You'll work closely with the Managing Director, Qualified Person and external logistics partners to establish practical, compliant processes that support day-to-day operations.

The QMS itself is set up, but there will be periods of high activity as the business grows and prepares for future expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Create and manage quality procedures, SOPs and controlled documentation
  • Ensure compliance with GDP, GMP and relevant EU pharmaceutical regulations
  • Manage deviations, CAPAs, change controls and quality records
  • Support internal and external audits and regulatory inspections
  • Work closely with the Qualified Person on batch certification and quality oversight
  • Liaise with external logistics and distribution partners
  • Help build scalable quality processes to support future business growth

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys managing systems and creating structure. You'll ideally have:

  • Experience working within pharmaceutical quality assurance
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Experience writing and maintaining SOPs and quality documentation
  • Good understanding of GDP and/or GMP regulations
  • A practical, hands-on approach and the ability to work independently
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills

What's on Offer

  • Opportunity to build the quality function from the ground up
  • Join an international pharmaceutical business during an exciting growth phase
  • High level of ownership and autonomy
  • Close collaboration with senior leadership
  • One-year contract with strong potential for a long-term permanent opportunity as the business expands into additional European activities

Location: Amsterdam (flexible and hybrid set-up)

If you're someone who enjoys creating structure, improving quality systems and being part of building something from the ground up, we'd love to hear from you.
