Role Overview We are seeking a Laboratory Equipment Category Buyer to lead procurement activities for laboratory equipment, including sourcing, supplier management, contracting, and category strategy execution.
Key Responsibilities
Lead RFx processes and vendor selection for projects
Develop and implement the Laboratory Equipment category strategy
Build strong relationships with key internal collaborators
Align Procurement objectives with Global Engineering and project stakeholders
Lead supplier relationship management and performance reviews
Drive cost-reduction and efficiency initiatives
Manage supply risk and support issue resolution with suppliers
Negotiate Equipment Purchase Agreements and Framework Agreements
Translate category strategies into project execution plans
Minimum Required Qualifications and Skills
5+ years in Procurement
At least 5 years in regional or global category management
Proven experience developing and delivering sourcing strategies with measurable results
Relevant experience with CapEx and Laboratory Equipment (e.g. analytical instruments, heating/cooling/preservation, filtration/purification, mixing/agitation, containment/safety, handling, cleaning/sterilization)
CIPS or equivalent certification is an advantage
Fluent English, German and/or French is a strong advantage
