Lab Equipment Maintenance Specialist | Leading Global Biopharma Company, Switzerland
About the Role
A leading global biopharma company in Switzerland is seeking a Lab Equipment Maintenance Specialist to support engineering and maintenance activities within a regulated pharmaceutical laboratory environment.
This junior-level position focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and equipment lifecycle support. You will collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure laboratory equipment operational availability and compliance with quality and EHS standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and perform laboratory equipment maintenance.
- Manage external suppliers for preventive and curative maintenance.
- Support internal teams with troubleshooting and usage topics.
- Diagnose equipment issues and determine corrective actions.
- Conduct calibration, adjustment, cleaning, and verification operations.
- Record all maintenance activities in SAP.
- Monitor and manage spare parts inventory.
Specific Responsibilities
- Ensure operational availability of laboratory equipment.
- Coordinate interventions with external suppliers and users.
- Oversee maintenance performed by external suppliers.
- Ensure compliance of maintenance activities in terms of quality and EHS.
- Ensure full traceability of interventions in SAP.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance processes and equipment reliability.
- Provide technical support and training to users.
Required Skills & Experience
Education
- Laboratory Technician CFC in Physics, Biology, or Chemistry (or equivalent).
- Open to candidates with a QC Analyst or Lab Technician background wishing to transition into lab equipment maintenance.
Work Experience
- Previous experience in GxP-regulated environments and pharmaceutical laboratories.
- Practical experience with mechanical and electromechanical components of lab equipment.
- Experience in controlled or classified laboratory areas.
- Familiarity with documentation systems, deviations, and equipment logbooks.
- Experience with laboratories/equipment used for monoclonal antibody development is a plus.
- Knowledge of USP and DSP equipment and processes is a plus.
