Process Engineer – Leiden, Netherlands
Description:
A leading biopharmaceutical company in Leiden is seeking an experienced DSP Process Engineer to join their operations team. This role is focused on downstream processing (DSP) operations and new product introduction (NPI) tech transfer, ensuring seamless implementation of new manufacturing processes and optimization of existing production.
Responsibilities:
Lead and optimize DSP manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and alignment with production objectives.
Drive NPI tech transfer projects, from lab to pilot to commercial scale, ensuring successful process scale-up and validation.
Supervise process performance and ensure operations stay within validated and regulatory limits.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives and minimize downtime or losses.
Collect, analyze, and report data to support process optimization and regulatory compliance.
Guide Product Impact Assessments and Change Control processes for new and modified processes.
Conduct Gemba walks and support Continuous Process Verification (CPV) activities to maintain high-quality standards.
Requirements:
Relevant university degree or equivalent experience in process engineering or biotechnology.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in DSP operations and NPI tech transfer.
Proficient in Dutch (A2) and English (C1).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in MS Office, data analysis, and business applications.
Stress-resilient, flexible, and adaptable to changing priorities.
