For our client – a global pharmaceutical leader based in Basel, Switzerland – I am looking for a Scientist DPS Phys-Chem QC to join their QC Physico-Chemical team. This role offers a chance to take ownership of release and stability testing for critical drug product batches under cGMP conditions.
Key responsibilities:
Independently execute routine and validation phys-chem assays (e.g., compendial content, identity, purity) for biologics/large molecules, following cGMP, applicable SOPs, and Good Documentation Practices (GDP), with a “right-first-time” mindset.
Perform, review, and approve basic operational tasks in the lab (e.g., mobile phase preparation, pH meter and balance calibration).
Proactively drive investigation and troubleshooting of lab-equipment issues, proposing mitigation measures to prevent recurrence.
Maintain audit-ready laboratory standards (inventory and consumables management, 6S), and support on-site customer and regulatory audits.
Draft and update instrument SOPs to ensure alignment with current practices.
Participate in—and initiate—laboratory operational optimization and continuous process-improvement initiatives.
Key requirements:
EFZ, HF, CTA, BTA, PTA, BSc or MSc in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field.
?5 years’ experience in a research or technical QC role within the pharmaceutical or chemical industry.
Demonstrable hands-on experience in a cGMP-regulated phys-chem analytics laboratory.
Power-user proficiency with Empower software v3.7.
Strong scientific knowledge of phys-chem analytics and experience in reporting, interpretation, and documentation of results.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Fluent written and spoken English.
