Job Title: Production Support Engineer
About the Role:
A leading CAR T cell therapy manufacturing facility is seeking an experienced Production Support Engineer for a 6-month assignment to support the expansion of operational capacity at its Ghent site. In this pivotal role, you’ll drive improvements across operational support systems essential to GMP-compliant manufacturing. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure production efficiency, compliance, and seamless execution of support activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as liaison between Ghent operations and pre-processing activities (e.g., sterilization and kitting), ensuring effective communication and timely issue resolution.
Analyze and report on KPIs to monitor production efficiency, material usage (scrap and yield), quality (NCs), and delivery performance (OOS, lead times).
Lead and support continuous improvement projects aligned with site-wide objectives.
Develop, review, and approve operational documentation (SOPs, work instructions), and support training across teams.
Participate in change control boards and operational review meetings, focusing on improvement and compliance.
Own and contribute to root cause investigations and CAPA development.
Oversee non-cell processing material processes including consumables, gowning, and artwork.
Support systems such as Site Risk Assessment Management, Access Rights, and Order Management.
Requirements:
6+ years of experience in MSAT, Quality, or Operations, with exposure to at least two of these functions.
Master’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or equivalent experience.
Proven stakeholder management and cross-functional communication skills.
Project management experience or training is an advantage.
Fluent in Dutch and English.
Willing to work on-site 5 days/week (limited remote work possible once fully established in the role).
