Job Title: Production Support Engineer

About the Role:
A leading CAR T cell therapy manufacturing facility is seeking an experienced Production Support Engineer for a 6-month assignment to support the expansion of operational capacity at its Ghent site. In this pivotal role, you’ll drive improvements across operational support systems essential to GMP-compliant manufacturing. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure production efficiency, compliance, and seamless execution of support activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as liaison between Ghent operations and pre-processing activities (e.g., sterilization and kitting), ensuring effective communication and timely issue resolution.

  • Analyze and report on KPIs to monitor production efficiency, material usage (scrap and yield), quality (NCs), and delivery performance (OOS, lead times).

  • Lead and support continuous improvement projects aligned with site-wide objectives.

  • Develop, review, and approve operational documentation (SOPs, work instructions), and support training across teams.

  • Participate in change control boards and operational review meetings, focusing on improvement and compliance.

  • Own and contribute to root cause investigations and CAPA development.

  • Oversee non-cell processing material processes including consumables, gowning, and artwork.

  • Support systems such as Site Risk Assessment Management, Access Rights, and Order Management.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience in MSAT, Quality, or Operations, with exposure to at least two of these functions.

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or equivalent experience.

  • Proven stakeholder management and cross-functional communication skills.

  • Project management experience or training is an advantage.

  • Fluent in Dutch and English.

  • Willing to work on-site 5 days/week (limited remote work possible once fully established in the role).

  • Duration: 4 months

  • Start Date: ASAP

  • Work Model: Full time / On-site (max. 1 remote day per week possible)
