The Maintenance Engineer Facilities
Responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and reliable operation of all hard services within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical site environment. The role focuses on maintaining critical building systems and infrastructure, including fire safety systems, CCTV, access control, elevators, automatic doors, lifting equipment, HVAC coordination, and building fabric (such as roofs and civil structures).The position ensures effective preventive and corrective maintenance execution (via SAP), contractor management (including JLL), and compliance with EHS&S and Quality standards. In addition, the role supports capital projects, monitors budgets and service performance, contributes to maintenance strategy development, and drives continuous improvement across site facilities operations.
Non-Negotiable Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
• Experience in facilities maintenance, building services, or engineering within a technical or regulated environment (pharmaceutical, biotech, or industrial preferred)
• Strong knowledge of EHS&S and GMP Quality requirements
• Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance processes, ideally using SAP or similar CMMS systems
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering, or Facilities Management field, OR equivalent relevant experience
• Proficiency in Dutch and English (written and spoken)
• Experience working with contractors and external service providers in a complex site environment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing, and compliance-driven environment
Desirable Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
• Fluent in English and Dutch
• Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or GMP-regulated manufacturing or campus environments
• Experience with building systems such as fire safety, CCTV, access control, HVAC, elevators, and lifting equipment
• Experience supporting capital projects and infrastructure upgrades
• Experience in budget monitoring and operational performance management
• Experience collaborating with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Maintenance teams
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills
• Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives in facilities or maintenance operations
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills across diverse teams
