Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Engineer
About the Role:
A leading pharmaceutical company is seeking a highly experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of production and utility systems across multiple GMP-regulated sites. You’ll be part of a diverse and technically skilled maintenance department that values autonomy, innovation, and continuous improvement. Supporting both facility and production installations, this role offers the chance to contribute directly to the manufacturing of life-changing medicines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex malfunctions in electrical infrastructure and utility installations.
  • Coordinate and supervise technicians and external contractors across three locations.
  • Conduct root-cause analyses and drive corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop and optimize maintenance plans to enhance system reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Ensure all maintenance work is performed in compliance with Dutch electrical law, NEN 3140 (mandatory), and safety regulations.
  • Interpret and evaluate technical work descriptions for legal and operational safety.
  • Manage external service contracts and ensure procedural adherence.
  • Contribute to daily operations as well as long-term improvement and reliability projects.
  • Actively participate in daily team briefings and maintenance planning sessions.
Requirements:
  • MBO Level 4 or HBO in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in electrical maintenance within an industrial or pharmaceutical environment.
  • Certification in NEN 3140 (required); NEN 1010 (preferred).
  • Solid knowledge of electrical distribution systems, QV installations, and medium-voltage environments.
  • Hands-on experience with SCADA/BMS systems and SAP.
  • Ability to work independently without the need for further training.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong focus on uptime, safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Project management skills, with certifications in Lean Six Sigma, RCM, or TPM considered a strong advantage.
  • Fluent in Dutch (B2 minimum) for communication and legal compliance.
  • Driving license B required; own vehicle preferred due to travel between sites.

Duration: 12+ months
