Role Overview In this role, you will be responsible for developing high?precision cutting components for consumer grooming and personal?care devices. You will take concepts from initial idea through to mass production, working closely within diverse, multidisciplinary development teams.
Key Responsibilities
Develop cutting components for a range of grooming and personal?care products, ensuring high performance and long?term reliability.
Maintain core values of functionality, user?centric design, and simplicity throughout the development cycle.
Translate user needs and commercial requirements into detailed technical specifications.
Engineer cutting elements with a strong focus on performance, durability, quality, and manufacturability.
Plan, execute, and steer the functional development process, ensuring smooth project progression.
Apply expert insights to influence technical decisions and contribute to long?term product strategy and roadmap discussions.
Collaborate with cross?functional teams to deliver robust mechanical designs in metal or plastic suitable for mass production.
Lead multidisciplinary groups, manage technical requirements, conduct DFMEAs, and follow a structured development methodology (e.g., V?model).
Release complete cutting modules, including all components and sub?assemblies for high?volume manufacturing.
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of product development experience, with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in applied physics, (bio)mechanical engineering, or a closely related field.
Experience in functional development for consumer products and familiarity with modern development methods.
Experience with DfSS (Greenbelt) is an advantage.
Proficient in 3D CAD for designing complex, precision mechanical systems.
Knowledge of precision engineering, manufacturability principles (processes, tools, equipment), mechanical analysis (strength, stiffness), and actuation or drive mechanisms.
Hands?on experience in designing, conducting, and analyzing experiments.
Strong problem?solving mindset, with the ability to develop insights through theoretical and empirical modeling.
Skills in Python or FEM tools are considered a plus.
Ambitious and motivated to grow into roles such as senior mechanical developer, functional lead, or product architect.
