Automation OT Engineer | Site Role

Job Description
A global life sciences organisation is seeking an Automation OT Engineer to support and enhance its Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure. This role sits within the Automation group and focuses on maintaining, improving, and securing OT systems, including cybersecurity and IT components of the PCS system.

In this role, you will provide technical expertise across system lifecycle management, upgrades, and data management for new and existing equipment. You will contribute significantly to project execution (50%), IT/OT operational activities (40%), and training and administrative tasks (10%). You will work closely with cross-functional teams including IT, Manufacturing, Engineering, Validation, Quality, and external suppliers to deliver robust and compliant technical solutions in a GMP-regulated environment.

Essential Requirements
· Degree in Industrial IT, Automation OT, or equivalent
· Preferably 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical, chemical, or food industry
· Strong knowledge of GMP environments, including change management and validation processes
· Proven experience in project management within Automation OT
· Experience with OT lifecycle management and system upgrades (Windows OS, Linux)
· Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi
· Strong understanding of OT/IT architectures (routing, subnets, VLANs, firewall rules) and industrial networks (Ethernet/IP)
· Experience working with databases such as Oracle and MS SQL
· Knowledge of cybersecurity management in OT environments
· Experience with patching processes (Windows/Linux and application updates, including testing and assessment)
· Knowledge of SCADA, HMI, and communication protocols within OT environments
· Understanding of data management and system layers
· Experience writing functional and design specifications
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical and rigorous approach
· Ability to work autonomously and manage priorities effectively
· Fluent French and technical English

Preferred Requirements
· Experience working in multidisciplinary teams within regulated environments
· Familiarity with GAMP and current industry standards
· Experience supporting audits and compliance activities
· Strong team player with a dynamic and proactive mindset
· Technical curiosity with the ability to learn and share knowledge
· Ability to translate user requirements into technical solutions
· Experience supporting change control processes and documentation review/approval
· Capability to prepare cost estimations and technical documentation for system modifications
