Position: Lead Scientist - Drug Discovery (CAR-T Cells)

Location: Flanders Region, Belgium

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated Lead Scientist with expertise in Drug Discovery to join our client talented team in Flanders, Belgium. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving our drug discovery programs forward, with a focus on CAR-T cell therapies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of scientists in the design, execution, and interpretation of drug discovery experiments.
  • Contribute to the development and optimization of CAR-T cell therapies, from target identification through to preclinical development.
  • Utilize cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to advance drug discovery efforts and overcome scientific challenges.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with colleagues in research, development, and manufacturing to ensure seamless transition of projects from discovery to development.
  • Stay abreast of the latest scientific advancements in the field and incorporate novel approaches into project strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Immunology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in drug discovery within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven track record of scientific leadership and project management, with experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Expertise in CAR-T cell biology, including a deep understanding of CAR-T cell engineering, preclinical models, and translational medicine.
  • Strong proficiency in experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation, with a publication record demonstrating scientific excellence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Dutch is advantageous but not required.
