Job Summary

The Datacenter Operator reports directly to the Datacenter Operations Manager. He/She will be part of the team in Breda, responsible for the IT infrastructure in the European region.

The Datacenter operator works closely with other technical IT-groups to keep critical business services operational.

Key responsibilities:
  • Monitoring the various ticketing queues and managing the individual requests
  • Installing new systems (incl. labelling, documentation, testing, configuring and documenting)
  • Performing patch-activities
  • Troubleshooting of cabling issues
  • Handling and coordinating remote hands requests
  • Monitoring of the environmental monitoring systems and actioning any follow-ups
  • Coordinating work permits
  • Coordinating and supervising activities of suppliers
  • Coordinating and performing minor project activities
  • Participating in major project activities
  • Following standard ITSM processes (change management, incident management)
  • Performing various visual inspection rounds and following up on findings.
  • Keeping the data centers, and hub-rooms neat and tidy

Key requirements
  • MBO - Technical education;
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a data center, hosting or telecommunications organization;
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure and cabling standards;
  • Knowledge of IT equipment (servers / switches / firewalls / etc);
  • Knowledge of Networking and TCP / IP;
  • Knowledge of Server Operating Systems (Windows / Linux) is a plus;
  • Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., BICSI, ASHRAE) is a plus;
  • No 9 to 5 mentality;
  • Work on Saturday or Sunday when requested (average of once every two months)
  • Continues Improvement focus;
  • Fluency in Dutch and English, spoken and written;

Practicalities:
  • Location: Breda, The Netherlands
  • Start-date: 1 July 2024
  • Contract duration: 6 months contract – with a high chance of extension to a permanent contract
