Job Summary
The Datacenter Operator reports directly to the Datacenter Operations Manager. He/She will be part of the team in Breda, responsible for the IT infrastructure in the European region.
The Datacenter operator works closely with other technical IT-groups to keep critical business services operational.
Key responsibilities:
Monitoring the various ticketing queues and managing the individual requests
Installing new systems (incl. labelling, documentation, testing, configuring and documenting)
Performing patch-activities
Troubleshooting of cabling issues
Handling and coordinating remote hands requests
Monitoring of the environmental monitoring systems and actioning any follow-ups
Coordinating work permits
Coordinating and supervising activities of suppliers
Coordinating and performing minor project activities
Participating in major project activities
Following standard ITSM processes (change management, incident management)
Performing various visual inspection rounds and following up on findings.
Keeping the data centers, and hub-rooms neat and tidy
Key requirements
MBO - Technical education;
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a data center, hosting or telecommunications organization;
Knowledge of IT infrastructure and cabling standards;
Knowledge of IT equipment (servers / switches / firewalls / etc);
Knowledge of Networking and TCP / IP;
Knowledge of Server Operating Systems (Windows / Linux) is a plus;
Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., BICSI, ASHRAE) is a plus;
No 9 to 5 mentality;
Work on Saturday or Sunday when requested (average of once every two months)
Continues Improvement focus;
Fluency in Dutch and English, spoken and written;

Location: Breda, The Netherlands
Start-date: 1 July 2024
Contract duration: 6 months contract – with a high chance of extension to a permanent contract
