We are looking for a hands-on and motivated R&D Engineer I to support a fast-paced laboratory environment within the medical device or pharmaceutical industry. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bench work, analytical testing, and contributing to product and process improvements in a quality-driven setting.
Perform experimental work, process and analyze data, and report findings for R&D projects.
Contribute to the improvement of existing products and production processes.
Support the development and validation of analytical methods for existing and new products.
Assist with the development of new products and production processes.
Support the installation, qualification, and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Help plan and execute experimental work and project activities in collaboration with team members or under the guidance of senior colleagues.
Support operational R&D activities, including stock management, purchase orders for lab consumables, chemicals, and equipment, incoming inspections, and organization of the R&D lab and warehouse.
Provide ad hoc support for NCR, CAPA, deviations, and audit-related activities.
B.Sc. or equivalent, or M.Sc., preferably in Chemistry; Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field may also be considered based on experience.
2–4 years of laboratory experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry with an M.Sc. or equivalent, or 4–6 years with a B.Sc. or equivalent.
Hands-on experience with analytical techniques such as NMR, SEC, KF, FT-IR, GC, microscopy, and related methods, including sample preparation, equipment handling, data analysis, and interpretation.
Preferably experience in analytical method development and validation.
Preferably experience in polymer chemistry, including synthesis, purification, and characterization of polymers.
Preferably able to perform multistep organic synthesis.
Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and relevant laboratory equipment software.
Hands-on mentality and strong interest in laboratory work.
