Contract Quality Control Manager

Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager to support laboratory operations within a regulated manufacturing environment on a contract basis.

The successful candidate will provide leadership to the QC function, ensuring laboratory activities are delivered in line with quality and compliance requirements while supporting operational priorities and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight of Quality Control laboratory activities.

  • Support and develop laboratory teams to ensure effective execution of daily operations.

  • Review and approve laboratory documentation, analytical data, and quality records.

  • Lead or support investigations related to deviations, atypical results, and quality events.

  • Ensure laboratory equipment and systems remain compliant and operational.

  • Provide technical expertise for analytical testing and laboratory-related challenges.

  • Work closely with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, Validation, and Technical Operations teams.

  • Support process improvements and initiatives focused on efficiency, compliance, and operational performance.

  • Contribute to planning, prioritization, and execution of laboratory activities.

Requirements

  • Degree in a scientific discipline such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.

  • Proven experience within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical, biotechnology, biologics, medical device, or similar manufacturing environment.

  • Previous experience leading laboratory teams or managing QC operations.

  • Strong understanding of quality systems, laboratory investigations, and compliance requirements.

  • Experience reviewing laboratory data and supporting quality-driven decision making.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Exposure to sterile, aseptic, or highly controlled manufacturing environments.

  • Experience supporting laboratory improvement projects or operational excellence initiatives.

  • Strong background in analytical testing and laboratory operations.
