Project Buyer (CAPEX)

Job Description

The Procurement team is seeking a Capex Buyer to support the execution of capital expenditure activities within assigned projects and operational buying scopes. Working under the guidance of a Project Procurement Lead, you will focus on operational execution and supplier coordination to ensure seamless project delivery.

In this role, you will manage end-to-end operational buying: from requisition to purchase order close-out, while maintaining compliance with internal procurement processes. Your work will directly impact schedule adherence and cost tracking for vital engineering and technical work packages.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.

  • Initial experience in procurement, supply chain, or operational buying.

  • Proficiency in SAP for issuing purchase orders and tracking deliveries.

  • Operational procurement execution, including RFQ support, bid comparison, and order confirmation tracking.

  • Fluent English and strong German skills for effective local stakeholder interaction.

Preferred Requirements

  • Advanced experience specifically within CAPEX or technical/engineering environments.

  • Structured and detail-oriented approach to managing complex project documentation.

  • Exposure to GMP and EHS requirements within a regulated procurement setting.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills to coordinate effectively with Engineering, Quality, and Finance teams.

  • A proactive learning mindset with a desire to develop strategic procurement capabilities.

Practicalities

  • Start Date: June 1st, 2026

  • Contract Duration: 9 months

  • Location: Visp (Minimum 3 days on-site per week)

  • Additional: This role focuses on execution; decision authority and strategy remain with the Lead Buyer.
