MES Quality Engineer

Geel, Belgium – 12 months, On-site

Job Description

The Supply Chain Quality (SCQ) team supports a leading global pharmaceutical manufacturing facility that serves as a Centre of Excellence for the development and manufacturing of Synthetic APIs. This team is responsible for quality oversight and final release of APIs, ensuring reliable supplies in compliance with applicable global regulations.

As an MES Quality Engineer, your primary focus will be the digital compliance and quality assurance of manufacturing systems. You will play a critical role in the review and approval of Master Batch Records and Recipes to ensure timely production of a commercial API product portfolio while maintaining strict regulatory standards and fostering strong collaborations across business and quality partners.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in sciences (e.g., chemistry, biology, pharmacy, information technology, engineering, or a related field)

  • Minimum 5 years of experience overall

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Chemical and/or Pharmaceutical Supply Chain and/or Quality Assurance

  • A strong understanding of production systems and their operation

  • Hands-on proficiency with the PAS-X Manufacturing Execution System (MES) is required

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a solutions-oriented, quality-focused mindset

  • Professional proficiency in English is required

Preferred Requirements

  • Familiarity with the Delta-V system is a plus

  • Knowledge of API manufacturing and/or cleaning validation is a plus

  • Experience writing, reviewing, and approving relevant QA procedures and supporting smaller optimization projects

  • Proven track record of working independently while maintaining effective communication with key stakeholders

  • Proficiency in Dutch is preferred to ease communication with local shop-floor operations
