Within R&D, Therapeutics Development and Supply (TDS) team is currently looking for a junior ontology data modeler to join our Data Integration and Predictive Technology group within the chemical manufacturing and controls area of pharmaceutical development.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain taxonomies and controlled vocabularies.
Analyze incoming term requests from users and conduct literature surveys to gather
information related to the terms.
Enrich our in-house taxonomies and controlled vocabularies by aligning them with existing industry standards.
Identify gaps in the ontologies with the help of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and enrich them by adding terms.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand data curation needs and support them by applying ontologies.
Stay updated on industry trends related to ontology development in the pharmaceutical domain and promote the use of these ontologies in-house.
Participate in cross-functional projects to integrate ontological frameworks into broader data management and analytics initiatives.
Support our data engineering team in curating the data block with ontologies.
Experience & Skills
Proven domain knowledge, with an established expertise in the field of chemical manufacturing and controls is highly desirable.
Excellent analytical skills with a strong understanding of chemical and physical processes, analytical methods and techniques used in pharmaceutical labs and plants
Detail-oriented problem solver who is well organized and able to work collaboratively and remotely in a fast-changing environment
Ability to work independently
Hands-on experience with JIRA and Confluence to facilitate documentation
Familiarity with the FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) data guiding principles
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate and present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is a plus
Knowledge of assets and ontology management applications like Collibra and CENTree is a plus
Experience with semantic web technologies such as OWL, RDF and triple stores is a plus
Practicalities
Location: Beerse, Belgium
Start-date: ASAP
Hybrid position – once a week onsite minimum
Duration: 1 year contract – with the likelihood of extension
