For our client - a leading biotech in Leuven , Belgium - we are looking for an In Vitro Scientist to join a dynamic and innovative team!
Position
You will be working on complex in vitro functional assays using primary cells to enable drug discovery efforts in immune-oncology.
Responsibilities:
- Isolate and differentiate human primary immune cells (T cells, monocytes)
- Set-up and run multicellular assays to investigate T cell killing in 2D and 3D in vitro models
- Develop appropriate controls to validate the assay and optimise the reproducibility, writing SOPs and keeping track records of all experimental activities
- Keep up to date, propose, develop and optimise new techniques in the field of 3D in vitro assays and immuno-oncology
- Prepare and effectively present results (written and oral) to project teams
- Have strong interpersonal skills and interact effectively with other Montis scientists and technicians on research projects and routine lab activities
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Cancer Biology, Immunology or a related discipline, or MS degree in a related discipline together with a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience.
- Must have good understanding of basic scientific principles and research practices in the field of oncology or immunology
- Previous experience in mammalian cell culture techniques is essential, and ideally experience with in vitro multicellular systems
- Proficient in variety of molecular and immunological techniques such as cell isolation, immunophenotyping, ELISA, qPCR, IFS, fluorescence imaging and quantification
- Proficient in data analysis, interpretation of results, troubleshooting, and solving technical issues independently
- Drug discovery experience tailored to oncology is a plus
