There is a new opportunity in Brussels with one with one of the biggest Biopharmaceutical companies in the world.

Position within MSD Global Clinical Supply Compliance Operations will be responsible for ensuring MRL imports/exports are declared and shipped in compliance with global trade regulations and Merck Global Trade Compliance (GTC) standards.  

Responsibilities:

  • Provide global support to deploy MSD’s Compliance strategic goals and objectives aligned closely with business objectives
  • Assures trade compliance with MSD’s Global Trade Compliance policy and standards and other global, country rules & regulations as applies to all processes, sites, and resources.
  • Monitor EMEA and RoW imports or exports that contain products that require additional licenses/permits including those performed by our 3rd party suppliers and vendors
  • Review shipment request information and shipping documents to ensure compliance with GTC global standards and local import Standard Business Practices
  • Work with GTC COE group to obtain HTS classifications and FDA Product Code assignments when needed
  • Influence internal and external stakeholders to comply with Standard Business Practices developed by MRL Trade Operations
  • Support global shipping sites with import or export transaction challenges
  • Contribute to special projects and assignments related to international trade as needed
  • Coordinate and manage KPI's and metrics with internal and external stakeholders

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher required
  • Trade related certificate or Customs Broker License desirable
  • 5-7 years logistics experience in the pharmaceutical industry of which a minimum of 5 years functional expertise with international trade
  • Knowledge of European and International Customs regulations and related experience
  • Prior experience interfacing with international companies
  • Prior experience interfacing with 3rd party suppliers and vendors including logistics carriers
  • Prior hands-on experience using Microsoft products (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
  • Prior experience with global trade management systems like SAP GTS or Integration Point, or similar databases, very desirable.
  • Proficient in English
  • Good project management skills and strong written and spoken communication skills desirable
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail
  • Sustained level of high performance while quickly processing high volumes of work
