We are pleased to announce an exciting new opportunity for a talented, highly motivated Senior Scientist to proactively contribute to multiple Omics projects at our drug discovery facilities. In addition to project management, mentoring and scientific development of scientists within our department, you will be part of the scientific leadership of projects within different research programs and therapeutic areas.   • Work closely together with client teams across multiple therapeutic areas (oncology, immunology, infectious diseases, neuroscience) to understand their scientific and technical challenges

  • Design, plan, execute and analyse (single cell) omics experiments.

  • Translate experimental data into biologically meaningful information, based on excellent data analysis skills combined with a broad biology background.

  • Provide scientific, technical and strategic leadership to a client project team.

  • Interface directly with clients and internal customers to understand the needs and deliverables and define appropriate strategies that will achieve the scientific goals.

  • Act as a role model to junior colleagues by demonstrating effective communication, project management and representation of Charles River.


  • MSc or PhD in molecular biology, genetics, or similar, combined with a deep understanding of (single cell) omics technologies and at least 5 years of working experience in an academic, CRO or Pharma environment.

  • Hands-on experience with (single cell) omics technologies and ability to develop and implement novel protocols.

  • Ability to use bioinformatic/statistical tools to interpret complex omics datasets (e.g. microarrays, next-generation sequencing, flow cytometry, mass spectrometry, proteomics, etc.).

  • Good planning, prioritization, problem solving, and organizational skills.

  • You work accurately, precisely and are familiar with quality management systems.

  • Experience with lab automation and knowledge of appropriate programming languages and/or software are a plus (R, Python).

  • Experience in high throughput screening, CRISPR and/or high content imaging is an advantage.

  • You like to work in a team, and you have excellent communication skills.
