For one of our key clients we are looking for a Senior Application Engineer!

In this key role you will be maxizing the chances for a successful design into new customer plaftorms! This key position provides technical support to the Field Application Engineer and Key Account Manager to guide customers through the design-in to launch a new product succesfully.

 

TASKS

  • Provide technical support to customers, together with FAE, regarding technical questions of customers during the design in process for assigned customers.
  • Providing required technical documentations, demo boards, samples and setting up of an in-depth technical discussion with customers.
  • Regular and periodic customer visits, regular contact with customers, and hosting customers visiting the company. Provide daily/weekly update to customers for critical engagements.
  • Customer contact with the company customers during meetings, customer and trade fair visits about their new product platforms and associated product requirements.
  • Internal coordination with Product Management, Sales and R&D, with regards to the company offering to the customers.
  • Assure availability of best product demos for customer evaluation and support in product demonstrations to customers.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction around the company technical/design-in support and on the continuous alignment of requirements and trade-off’s during customer specific development projects.

 

Technical sales

  • Dialog with customer and gather more information on the inquiry and spot more opportunities.
  • Be a technical sparring partner for our customers from inquiry to product launch by providing support;
  • during development phase, in close alignment with FAE and Systems Integration Engineer.
  • during customer production ramp-up, by collaborating with R&D and CQS on driving failure analysis and corrective actions.
  • Determine the best product offering to maximize our chance of a successful design in win.
  • Pro-actively inform and advise customers on new and upcoming developments in our Product Development Roadmap.
  • Advise customers where our roadmap products match future and current customer developments, aiming at securing a design in.
  • Inquiry evaluation on technical details; classify the inquiry and define how to move forwards. Play a driving role on the technical side towards other teams (e.g. Operations, R&D) to ensure inquiries are swiftly followed up with the correct information.
  • Organize / lead forefront studies, involving company R&D, Product Management and customer R&D to align on key features of future product platforms, and matching these with the company product portfolio or design solutions.

 

Reporting / Sharing market intelligence

  • Maintain overview and up to date status of all identified design in opportunities (on Sharepoint).
  • Report highlights on a weekly bases, which are consolidated into a weekly report to the company organization and management.
  • Provide information to the Product Management team in order to map market trends, to set a bases for future roadmap developments.

 

Product Development & Project Execution

  • In alignment with Product Management and Systems Integration Engineer, help to determine the technical and functional specifications for new product developments.
  • Develop design specifications for prototypes and arrange simulation models to support the customer design in process.
  • Throughout the product development, ensure alignment on requirements between Sonion R&D and the customer, informing the impact of changes to requirements, and negotiate on them when needed.
  • Secure/Sign off on the quality of customer prototypes and related reports before being shared with customers.

 

Communication

  • Fluent in English.
  • Coordinate with R&D Domain experts (both in Asia and Europe)
  • Coordinating with the Key Account Managers with regards to sales opportunities.
  • Coordinating the proposed solutions with R&D and Product Management and Customer.
  • Communication with R&D, Sales and the Customer to align product requirements.

 

Powers

  • Coordinate support needed and cooperation from R&D, if and how (resources) a request is handled (e.g. making prototypes/ measurements) and what solution to offer to the Customer.
  • Request other teams (DSS team and/ or Production Engineering) to execute on prototype builds.
  • Assess the quality of demonstrators, and sign off release of demonstrators prior to sharing them with customers.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contributing to customer satisfaction by handling requests timely and adequately.
  • Provide customers design in application support to meet their time to market and technical products/solution expectations.
  • Create a offering which is balanced between the company strategic goals and Customer demands.
  • Creating Customer Requirements Specifications at the start of the customer design in engagement and provide regular internal and external updates.
  • Support to complete deliverables in accordance with the internal procedure regarding target data sheets, prototype verification and final data sheet.
  • Compliance with policies and procedures within the framework of business system.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Education at Bachelor or Master (Physics, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science background)
  • Several years experience working in a Development environment and with strong technical interaction with global customer base.
  • Several years of experience providing technical application support and building customer confidence of tier one consumer or smartphone customers.
  • Strong technical knowledge in audio products, acoustical, biometric sensors and or audio DSP.
  • Experienced in testing and debugging complex circuits and systems – preferably mobile consumer products.
  • Understanding of low power analog and digital circuits and systems including circuit analysis.
  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB design.
  • Flexibility to travel.
  • Systematic / structured way of working.
  • Positive / can-do mentality.
  • Self driven and ambitious mindset.
  • Mindset of the consumer electronics/audio and semiconductor market.
  • Customer communication skills and customer focused mindset for highly demanding global consumer electronics/audio and semiconductor market.
