A small, exciting Biotech Company developing innovative immuno-oncology therapies is looking for a Scientist Preclinical Development. You will contribute to the development of innovative mRNA-based medicines across our pipeline with a focus on preclinical development. This is a highly-collaborative, hands-on position at the interface of discovery, CMC and clinical activities. The position requires organisation, excellent communication and presentation skills and a capacity for constant innovation in pursuit of company goals. The position is located at our Research site in Ghent.




  • The Scientist Preclinical Development’s duties shall include, but not be limited to:
  • Designing, assessing and reporting of pharmacodynamics, bio-distribution, immunogenicity and safety/toxicity in preclinical studies
  • Coordinating activities with CROs
  • Supervising contributing Research Associates
  • Supporting company goals according to timelines and budget
  • Writing reports
  • Preparation of regulatory documents (e.g. IB, IMPD)



  • A PhD in life science (preferably in toxicology)
  • 2+ years of experience in working in biotech or pharmaceutical industry
  • Work in a matrix environment
  • Advanced scientific writing skills
  • Planning, executing, analysing and reporting of preclinical efficacy and safety/toxicity studies
  • Supervision Research Associates
  • Knowledge about relevant ICH guidelines
  • Formal project management training would be an advantage
  • Experience of nucleic acid research would be an advantage but not essential
  • Energetic and ambitious
