We are looking for a dynamic Bioinformatics Scientist!
An international biotech company that develops and commercializes innovative instruments and reagents systems for the life science research and molecular diagnostics.
We provide epigenome-wide analyses for understanding epigenetic mechanisms, epigenetics-related drug discovery, transgenerational epigenetics studies, epigenetic biomarker identification (including epigenomic cancer biomarkers), and functional epigenomics.
Performing data analysis to support both the internal research and development team (evaluate experimental techniques, kits, equipment) and the epigenomic service team (client’s projects).
Diagenode’s activities focus on the field of epigenetics, including:
Protein-DNA interactions (chromatin studies)
Expression of coding and non-coding RNAs
The data is generated primarily by Next Generation Sequencing, including the following applications:
ChIP-seq, ChIPmentation, Cut&Tag, ATAC-seq, scATAC-seq
WGBS-seq, RRBS-seq, MeDIP-seq, EPIC array, targeted DNA methylation analysis
RNA-seq, sncRNA-seq, scRNA-seq
Understand our products, the wet-lab processes and sequencing techniques, be able to advise on the experimental design and interpret results
Work in a dynamic multidisciplinary and international team, co-operating with the wet-lab team and communicating with clients
Design and develop and optimize bioinformatics pipelines, tailor them to novel experimental data
Clear and meticulous reporting, drawing meaningful conclusions from the data
Managing the IT resources (managing space and computing capacity in a multi-user Linux environment, maintaining/updating software, organize data transfer etc.)
Participate in customer support in bioinformatics related questions
Supporting the Sales & Marketing team in their decision-making process and in advertising campaigns (e.g. by providing images/data for marketing materials)
PhD or equivalent experience in Bioinformatics with a background in bioengineering, biostatistics, computer science, biology or related field
Linux-based bioinformatics education/experience: scripting in Shell, R, Python, implementing bioinformatics software tools in Linux, utilizing programming and statistics/mathematical skills for data analysis
Experience with NGS data analysis
Capable of multitasking and managing several projects in parallel
Fluency in English

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with wet lab/bench scientists
Excellent reporting skills (oral and written communication skills)
Experience in molecular biology (especially NGS)
Experience in epigenetics and transcriptomics
Background in statistics and/or mathematics
Experience in other programming languages (e.g. Perl, C, Java)
Experience with machine learning and data mining
