Operational Excellence Trainer | GMP Manufacturing Training
Job Description
A life sciences manufacturing organisation is seeking an Operational Excellence Trainer to support onboarding and periodic retraining for Manufacturing, Production Support, and Quality Control operators within a GMP environment. The role focuses on delivering structured training programs related to cell and gene therapy manufacturing processes, production support activities, QC assays, and operational procedures while ensuring the highest standards of GMP compliance.
In this role, you will work closely with the Manufacturing Training Coordinator and Head of Operational Excellence to plan and deliver training in line with the established training schedule. You will support standardized and lean training processes, coordinate mock runs and unit operation training, and ensure operators remain fully trained on the latest SOPs and batch record revisions. The Operational Excellence Trainer will also identify and report training bottlenecks, provide guidance to operational teams, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to training and operational practices.
Essential Requirements
· Degree in Life Sciences or Biology
· Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a GMP environment, ideally in a training-related role
· Experience working within Manufacturing, Production Support, or Quality Control environments
· Knowledge of GMP requirements and compliance within a pharmaceutical or biotechnology setting
· Experience delivering onboarding and periodic retraining for operational staff
· Ability to plan and deliver training activities in alignment with training schedules
· Experience coordinating mock runs, unit operations, or equipment-related training activities
· Ability to guide and support Biotech, Production Support, and QC associates on procedural and project-related training
· Strong understanding of SOPs and batch record management and ensuring awareness of latest revisions
· Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to interact constructively across departments
· Ability to act as a role model for GMP compliance and best practices
· Fluent English
Preferred Requirements
· Dutch language skills are considered an asset
· Experience supporting training activities related to cell and gene therapy manufacturing processes
· Familiarity with aseptic practices and participation in aseptic training or related improvement initiatives
· Experience providing training to contractors or visitors entering GMP environments
· Ability to identify training bottlenecks and contribute to continuous improvement of training programs
