Responsibilities:

  • Support project teams in the deployment of new products, system upgrades, and new equipment within advanced labelling and packaging lines
  • Deliver engineering solutions across projects of varying complexity, ensuring high-quality implementation across the full asset lifecycle
  • Act as the mechatronics subject matter expert for maintenance, engineering, and project teams
  • Provide second-line support to shopfloor technicians for complex mechatronics and equipment-related issues
  • Investigate complex technical problems related to equipment and processes, applying structured troubleshooting methods and recommending/implementing solutions
  • Independently plan, coordinate, and execute engineering and maintenance activities within assigned projects
  • Develop and execute test protocols, perform technical evaluations, and prepare technical assessment reports
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors, including Equipment Engineering, Automation, Digital, Validation, QA, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and safety standards throughout all activities (e.g., GMP, OSHA, EPA)
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across equipment reliability, performance, and maintainability

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Science, Mechatronics, or a related technical field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience, including at least 5+ years in an operations or manufacturing environment
  • Strong expertise in mechatronics systems (mechanical, electrical, automation integration)
  • Experience in project management methodologies, preferably within CAPEX or capital projects
  • Proven analytical troubleshooting and structured problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in regulated environments (GMP, OSHA, EPA)
  • Willingness to occasionally work outside standard office hours
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken); basic Dutch is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments
  • Exposure to packaging, labelling, or high-speed production systems
  • Familiarity with lifecycle asset management principles
  • Experience working in cross-functional global engineering or project teams
  • Experience driving technical improvements or reliability engineering initiatives

 

Technical Expertise

  • Strong hands-on knowledge of mechatronic systems in industrial or manufacturing environments
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and automation-related issues
  • Experience with commissioning, testing, and validation of equipment
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation
  • Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance strategies
  • Experience writing technical documentation, including test protocols and assessment reports
  • Familiarity with engineering standards in regulated manufacturing environments
