External Communications Specialist (Events & Media) | Global Pharma
Job Description
A global life sciences organisation is seeking an External Communications Specialist to support the delivery of clear, consistent, and high-quality external communications. This role plays a key supporting function in executive-level communications and flagship external events, ensuring messaging is professional, accurate, and aligned across channels.
Working closely with the Senior Manager, External Communications and the wider Communications team, you will contribute to the development of engaging content for external audiences, including media materials, website content, and social media. In parallel, you will provide hands-on coordination and logistical support for major external events such as the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and investor-related activities.
This position is suited to an early-career communications professional, offering exposure to both strategic communications planning and operational execution. The role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment when handling sensitive information, and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
Essential Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree required
· 0–4 years of experience in Communications, Event Management, Marketing, or Investor Relations
· Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and German
· Experience developing content for external audiences, including media materials, web content, and social media
· Ability to ensure consistency of messaging across multiple communication channels
· Experience supporting or coordinating external events (e.g., AGMs, investor events, media activities)
· Strong organizational skills with impeccable attention to detail
· Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
· Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
· Solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to support multiple activities simultaneously
Preferred Requirements
· Experience working with design and digital teams on multimedia or visual content
· Exposure to media monitoring and media relations activities
· Experience preparing briefing materials, presentations, and event documentation
· Ability to support post-event reporting and evaluation activities
· Familiarity with working in a corporate, multinational environment
· Strong stakeholder management skills across functions such as HR, Legal, Finance, and Communications
