Looking for an EHS Engineer
The EHS Engineer will work under the direction of the EHS Manager to provide engineering support to ensure Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability. The EHS Engineer will be responsible for leading and supporting the implementation of EHS standards within their field of expertise, coaching/leading teams of EHS representatives and standards owners/SMEs, performing EHS assessments within projects, leading incident investigations, in- and external audits and inspections, conducting EHS related risk assessments, providing EHS training on EHS related topics, presenting periodically to the Site Leadership Team, and developing/improving EHS processes and practices.
Responsibilities:
- Be an expert in Occupational Hygiene subjects, Transport Safety, EHS Risk Assessments (e.g. JSA’s, Risk assessments)
- Lead and/or support the implementation of EHS Standards within your field of expertise
- Coach/lead teams of EHS Representatives and Standards Owners/SMEs as part of Integrated Ownership of Safety Standards (IOSS)
- Perform EHS assessments within projects and set up, lead and/or support EHS projects (for example waste reduction, use of chemical substances)
- Lead incident investigations
- Lead in- and external audits and inspections (for example ISO 14001, ISO 45001, J&J EHS Audits, governmental agencies)
- Conduct EHS related risk assessments like facility, ergonomic and chemical risk assessments
- Give EHS training on EHS related topics
Your profile:
- Bachelor's degree or comparable level (chemical, mechanical, electrical)
- At least 5 years of experience in the field of EHS (lab, R&D, chemical and/or biological environment)
- Additional course Safety Manager level 3 (“HVK”) and/or Industrial Hygiene (“AH”) or comparable
- Fluent in Dutch and English
- Experience with international Management System Standards like ISO 14001 & ISO 45001
- Experience with management of Emergency Response
