Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement computer vision algorithms and systems to analyze and extract valuable insights from biological images and videos.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams of scientists, engineers, and researchers to understand project requirements and develop innovative computer vision solutions.
- Design and optimize computer vision models for image classification, object detection, image segmentation, and tracking within the biotechnology domain.
- Work with large-scale biological datasets, apply preprocessing techniques, and develop data augmentation strategies to improve model accuracy and robustness.
- Conduct rigorous testing and validation of computer vision models to ensure reliability and reproducibility.
- Participate in code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing activities to foster collaboration and maintain high code quality standards.
Requirements:
- Master's Degree, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong foundation in computer vision concepts, including image processing, feature extraction, and deep learning algorithms.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java.
- Experience with popular computer vision libraries and frameworks (e.g., OpenCV, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and their application to biological image analysis.
- Familiarity with biological imaging techniques (microscopy, histology, etc.) and related file formats (e.g., TIFF, DICOM).
- Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms, particularly convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for image analysis.
- Ability to optimize and deploy computer vision models on various platforms, including embedded systems or cloud infrastructure.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with scientists, researchers, and stakeholders.
